Dynamic compaction

Dynamic Compaction is an in-situ compaction technique that Makarios has been using successfully in projects throughout South Africa. The technique involves the compaction of soils to detphs of up to 12m using pounders to impart high enegy compaction.

Makarios has one of the largest dedicated fleets of Dynamic Compaction rigs in South Africa with pounders ranging from 8-15 tonnes and capable of going up to 20tons.Dynamic Replacement is also offered(Stone Collumns, soil collumns)

Piling

The deep weathered soils that are common in Southern Africa require the structural load to be transferred to a competent geotechnical founding via piling. Our capabilities include auger, mini/micro pile from small diameter purcussion 50mm - 300mm diameter, 250mm diameter CFA piles and then 450mm- 1200mm diameter Auger piles.

Compaction Grouting

Compaction grouting has been used for the successful rehabilitation of sinkholes for many years. We specialise in this grouting method, specifically to complement land rehabilitation via compaction grouting.Low mobility grouting densifies loose granular soils, renforces fine grained soils and stabilizes subsurface voids or sinkholes by staged injection of low-slump, low mobilty aggregate grout. Compaction Grouting often offers an economic advantage over conventional approaches.

Lateral support

Lateral Support has been used in South Africa since the early 1970s, and the ever increasing demand in urban areas for parking has necessitated each development to provide basement parking for their staff and clients. We offer Geonails,Concrete soldier piles,Self Drilling Anchors(SDA) as well as strand Achors systems all designed by competent geotechnical engineers together finding the best and most cost-effective solution to suite the clients needs.
